What is the New Mexico Technology Assistance Loan Program?

The New Mexico Technology Assistance Program (NMTAP) operates a loan program for persons with disabilities who need assistive technology.

What can NMTAP Loans Be Used For?

What Do I Need To Do To Apply For A Loan?

Step 1: Complete a 1st Community Bank Consumer Credit Application (PDF) / (Rich Text).
Step 2: Complete a NMTAP Loan Application (PDF) / (Rich Text).
Step 3: Complete a Disclosure Consent Form (PDF) / (Rich Text).
Step 4 : Submit the above documents to:

      Santa Fe, NM 87505
Step 5 : 1st Community Bank will review and process your application within three business days. If you are declined by the bank for any reason, then the NMTAP committee will review your loan request to consider approving the loan under the loan guarantee program.

How Long Does It Take To Get A Loan?

Once your application is submitted to 1st Community Bank, you should hear back within 3 business days. If you apply for the loan guarantee through NMTAP, it may take a few weeks as the Loan Committee meets monthly and reviews loan applications at their monthly meetings.
