What is Assistive Bank of Loan Equipment (ABLE)?
The ABLE Device Loan Program is designed for people with disabilities and their assisting service providers, to provide an opportunity to try out or evaluate an assistive device prior to purchase.
Loans of equipment from the ABLE Device Loan Program are made on a first come, first serve basis for a loan period of 30 or 60 days, unless prior arrangements have been made with the ABLE Device Loan Program to extend the loan for a longer period.

Download and Complete the ABLE Device Loan Application Form and the Borrower's Rules and Obligations Agreement and mail to NMTAP at the address below:

Step 3
Loan Process
Once we receive your paperwork, it will be reviewed, equipment being requested will be checked for availability and a Loan Agreement between ABLE and the parties requesting the equipment will be completed by our office. The loan agreement will be included with the equipment shipped or picked up from our office located at: NMTAP, 435 St Michaels Drive, Bldg. D., Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. The equipment is shipped via UPS; please provide a contact person, phone number and physical street address where the equipment will be shipped to.
The loan agreement must be signed by all parties involved and returned to our office upon receipt of the equipment.
Step 4
Shipping Instructions
Download Return Shipping Instructions: follow the shipping instructions to ensure delivery of equipment to the ABLE Device Loan Program.
All items are shipped UPS ground. Borrowers are responsible for returning all devices loaned, as well as all related peripheral items. A list of items contained with each shipment is found on the box the device is sent in.

Evaluation Form
Once you have completed your loan period, please download the evaluation form, complete, and return along with the device or you may send via mail or fax.

The Assistive Bank of Loan Equipment (ABLE) is operated by the New Mexico Technology Assistance Program (NMTAP). NMTAP is a program of the Public Education Department, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
ABLE serves school districts, local education agencies such as Regional Educational Centers, and rehabilitation and private organizations throughout New Mexico. These agencies and organizations must have cooperative agreements with NMTAP in order to participate in ABLE's assistive device loan program.
